While Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was praised upon release for its gripping narrative and memorable puzzles that made great use of the Nintendo DS's hardware, the game was not a commercial success, much like later Ace Attorney games, and did not receive a sequel or anything outside of an iOS port in 2012. The game is a puzzle based adventure game that, as previously mentioned, was written, designed, and directed by Ace Attorney creator Shu Takumi after he departed from the main series following 2007's Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was first released in Japan in June 2010 before arriving in North America and Europe in January 2011. While he's likely more known for his work on the Ace Attorney series, most recently last year's The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Capcom's Shu Takumi released another beloved Nintendo DS cult classic named Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective in 2010 that looks like it might be making a comeback. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective has been rated in South Korea, indicating that a remaster is on the way. ![]()
